fair warning:  k:creates might be a little wedding-happy in the near future.  i just got engaged and you know i can't waste any opportunity to DIY!

i like the idea of this in a big volume of space, almost floor to ceiling, sort of way.  while i do LOVE color, the image shown here is a little too cinco-de-mayo for my taste in weddings.  i think it would be more reserved (and at the same time make more of a statement) if the vellum was all white or gradients in gray and white.  its simple, clean, super cheap, and like almost anything, really cool when there's a large number of them!

sorry its been awhile -- I've been busy getting engaged.  :-)  i'm holding off on the wedding blogs, magazines, you-name-it until after the cse... but there is always time for crafting and in a superb stroke of luck, i came across curbly.  holy lots of great DIY projects!  first up, one of these fun snuggly pillows in plum.  :-)

these little darlings were made by stitching fabric hearts to white cardstock. inspired by a bright idea, these valentines are simple with just the right amount of girly.

DIY No. 05 - Pillows

 

Today I checked off one of my New Year's resolutions and learned how to sew!  (Thanks for the lesson g'ma!)  Yes, these pillows were a very very basic sewing project, but hey, you gotta start somewhere!  While in the O.C., I picked up this fabric from the $3 bin (score!) and had a hunch it would go perfectly with our flor!

this bright idea comes directly from one of my favorite blogs, design sponge.  i love combining different textures and this little q&e craft is right up my alley.  this just might inspire me to pull out my 2-years-old-and-still-in-the-box sewing machine and learn how to use it!
